The behavioural layer
Four components — warm-up, AI coach, vault, cool-down — that surround a trading session. None of them place orders or touch your broker. They run the routine you built when calm and hold you to it when you can't hold yourself.
Warm-up
The pre-session ritual that gates the trading UI. Until warm-up is complete, the active-session screens stay locked.
A warm-up is the blocks you chose — mindset check-in, rule reminder, plan acknowledgement, breathing, wearable check, yesterday's review. Configurable from Settings → Warm Up.
The warm-up isn't magic. It's a cold-start: you can't just see-it-take-it the first thirty seconds of the session anymore. That's the entire point.
AI coach
A live, sidebar-resident coach that watches your session and names patterns by name. With a broker connected, it reads your fills in near-real-time (~30-second polling cycle); without one, it summarises after the fact.
The coach speaks in the cognitive-distortion taxonomy Kaxse is built around — revenge trading, sunk cost, position drift, FOMO — so the pattern gets a name in the moment it's happening. Naming is the wedge: it puts a meta-cognitive layer between you and the impulse.
The Kaxse AI add-on is required for the live coach. Without it, you still get the journal summaries, end-of-day reviews, and weekly reports.
Vault
A friction layer between you and your broker login at the moment a critical rule fires. The vault is Kaxse-side — it seals your stored broker credentials inside Kaxse, behind a PIN, time delay, and reflection prompts. Your actual broker account is untouched.
The vault is the answer to "I just need to check the chart one more time." Make the broker twenty clicks away — through friction you built when calm — and the impulse usually passes before the friction does.
Cool-down
The post-session ritual that closes the day deliberately. Process review, mood log, one-line takeaway. Tomorrow's warm-up doesn't unlock until cool-down is complete.
Skipping cool-down is how yesterday's drawdown quietly inflates today's position size. The ritual forces a closing punctuation on the session so the next one starts from zero.
Where each phase fits
| Phase | When it runs | What it surfaces |
|---|---|---|
| Warm-up | Before the first entry | Your condition + your rules + the plan |
| AI coach | During the session, in real time | Cognitive-distortion patterns, by name |
| Vault | When a critical rule fires | Friction between you and the broker |
| Cool-down | At session close | Reflection, mood, one-line takeaway |
